There is a list of the largest files found anywhere on your computer (backed up or not) in a text file found on your computer (Backblaze generates this). That might be fine depending on what is the most important to you. Since Backblaze backs up in file size order, and once a file is backed up it is backed up (the backup does not have to be “complete” to restore) here is what will occur if you are not “done” by Friday: your very largest files will not be backed up. It is fine to pause backup and start it again once every 4 hours, just try not to change anything for 4 hour blocks. And as long as you do not touch it for 4 hour blocks, you will never have to do this part again. The very best thing you can do is give it at LEAST 4 hour blocks of time where it is backing up in Continuously mode, turn off all power savings modes so not even your screen saver turns on.Īt the beginning, it has to update and do a lot of book-keeping. I have ~4TB of data but I am leaving for a long vacation on this Friday. I have tried restarting the bzserv service which didn't help. I have a 1Gbps network connection and ~600Mbps upload speed according to Backblaze's speed test.
I thought I should be able to see at least ~100 files uploaded per second with 100 threads, but instead the remaining file countdown only shows ~10-20 files uploaded per second. I understand the initial part of the upload process is dominated by small files, but I thought if I set number of threads to 100 like below: Occasionally I may see a bztrans64_thread01.exe shows up for a few seconds.
But when I look at my task manager I don't see any bztrans64_threadxx.exe. I have seen a few threads in which /u/brianwski kindly explained how Backblaze backs up files from a technical point of view, and I greatly appreciate that as a programmer (relief!).
